Nach dem DVD-Schutz will der bekannte Hacker Jon Johansen digitale Medien vom Kopierschutzverfahren befreien.

doubleTwist heißt das Freeware-Programm, mit dem er verspricht, MP4, WMV, AVI, MPG, 3GP-Videodateien, MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV-Audiofiles, JPG, GIF, PNG und BMP in ein anderes Dateiformat so umzuwandel, dass sie auf Handys, Spielekonsolen und MP3-Playern abgespielt werden können.

Durch das Programm soll das in Deutschland geltende Recht, das nicht erlaubt, den Kopierschutz zu umgehen, nicht verletzt werden.
